Academic Forum on ISDS

On October 16, 2019, the fourth Academic Forum Sessional Event on the occasion of the UNCITRAL Working Group III (Investor-State Dispute Settlement, ISDS) took place in the Juridicum. The meeting of academics most of them also taking part in the Working Group Meeting took place to discuss this year’s papers. They focused on the topics under discussion in the Working Group. The papers dealt with reflective losses, third party funding, selection, appointment and code of conduct for arbitrators/judges and the proposal for an advisory center aiding developing countries as well as small and middle-sized investors. After the presentation and discussion of the papers, the participants exchanged their views about future steps and the up-coming conference in Vienna 2020
