About

The lectures of the elective field of specialisation „Housing Law” are scheduled on a two-semester basis. Therefore the required number of 12 semester hours can be completed within two semesters. The elective field can be started in winter or summer term.
In order to finish the elective basket all subjects of the Core Area have to be completed, whereas subjects in the Elective Area can be chosen.
After consultation with the coordinator two semester hours can be completed through relevant practical experience (e.g. judicial intern at a court in the section for tenancy disputes).

Learning objectives

The elective field of specialisation „Housing Law” provides a comprehensive and systematic overview of Tenancy and Residential Property Law. In addition to courses and lectures, practical exercises and seminars are offered, in which specific legal problems are illustrated and discussed.
The aim is an advanced education in the field of Housing Law, which is not limited to the Private Law provisions, but also includes the relevant tax regulations.
Students taking part in the elective basket gain sound knowledge in the key areas of Housing Law, which will serve them as a solid basis in their future careers. Good knowledge of Housing Law is not only essential for real estate agents and managers, but also for many other legal professions such as lawyers and judges.
